One Dead, Others Injured In Wis. Fatal Crash

ELLSWORTH, Wis. (WCCO) ― A two-vehicle accident in the town of Ellsworth, Wis. left one person dead and others injured Saturday afternoon.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said at approximately 4:20 p.m., a vehicle traveling east on 610th Avenue failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a vehicle traveling north on 610th Street.

The driver and passenger of the northbound vehicle were injured and taken to the River Falls Area Hospital. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was injured and flown from the scene by helicopter. The passenger of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Ellsworth Fire Department, Ellsworth Area Ambulance and Life Link III. Names of the victims will not be released until family can be notified.
