10-Week-Old Girl Dies After 6-Car Crash On I-494

(WCCO) A crash on Interstate 494 Friday afternoon temporarily blocked eastbound traffic entirely. A short time later, one lane was cleared.

The crash happened near Highway 169. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Ford truck changed lanes and rear-ended a stopped car, causing a chain reaction involving 4 other vehicles. 

Three injuries were reported. Police said 60-year-old Doris Herington of Prior Lake was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with a non-life threatening head injury.

A 10-week-old Lucie Sailor died at HCMC after the crash, according to hospital spokesperson Christine Hill. Her family has opted to donate her organs. The child's father, Derek Sailor, is still in critical condition at the same hospital.
