PURPOSE OF POSITION:Forecast, produce, report and present weather in a clear, compelling manner.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:• Preparation and delivery of weather segments on television, online and for other methods of distribution.
• Programming and use of weather graphics computer equipment.
• Live field reporting.
• Delivery of clear, accurate and timely weather information to the public.
• Monitoring of potentially dangerous weather conditions that will require presentation of information to our viewers.
• Communication of weather-related information to newsroom colleagues and contribution to news coverage of weather-related events and issues.
• Participation in Community Relations events.
CORE COMPETENCIES:Requires excellent communication skills, results orientation, innovation and collaboration with colleagues on the air and behind the scenes. Three to five years' experience in a medium- to large market preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:AMS Seal required.
