Part-Time Technician

POSITION: Part-Time Technician
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
SHIFT: Varies
DATE: 10/31/2007
PURPOSE OF POSITION:To provide technical assistance to the team that originates WCCOs' daily programming.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Properly operate technical equipment used in the production and distribution of WCCOs' daily programming:
• Operate servers to input commercials, promotional material and all WCCO syndicated programming.
• Operate tape decks as required for record/playback.
• Assist in taking in feeds from our WCCO remote newsgathering trucks.
• Effectively communicate technical or operational problems to the appropriate persons.
• Other duties as requested.
CORE COMPETENCIES:Must be results-oriented, innovative, demonstrate leadership and be a team player. Must understand and abide by safety rules and procedures that pertain to assigned job functions.
Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and have normal hearing skills. Must be able to read, speak and understand English. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Minnesota Drivers License. Ability to lift 50 pounds and push 75 pounds.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:• High School Diploma.
• 1 year technical post secondary education. Related on-the-job experience may be considered.
• 1 years of technical experience in a broadcast television station, or 2 years of non-broadcast television work experience.
