In The Know: We'll Miss Paul Douglas

Friday WCCO-TV announced Paul Douglas, our long-time friend and colleague, will no longer be working for us. Don says, he'll miss our dear friend's presence on the set.
We will all miss Paul's presence on the air and in the newsroom.
Those of us who have been through tough times in this business before, those of us who've watched our friends leave the airwaves understand this kind of thing happens from time to time. It doesn't make it easier.
One of those veterans who understands this business, better than any of the rest of us, I think, is Paul Douglas. And he sent us a message today, gracious and thankful in its tone and substance. And he blames no one.
We all said goodbye to another colleague last month, Bill Carlson. We will never see him again. Paul Douglas may not be on the air with us, but we, thankfully, will see him again. He's staying right here in Minnesota. He will still be a part of our lives.
And on a tough day, that lightens my heart. You may have liked Paul. We love him, and so, even on this very sad day, we remember that we, his friends, are the lucky ones.
