(WCCO) Miley Cyrus, otherwise known as Hannah Montana, is 15 years old and is currently mired in a bit of controversy. She will appear in a Vanity Fair photo spread wearing only a sheet. Don Shelby says that sound you hear is Walt Disney rolling back over in his grave.

Parents are jumping off the bandwagon, if we are to believe the hundreds of parenting blogs on the Internet. That could spell trouble for Cyrus and Montana.

She made $20 million last year in concert appearances that sold out in minutes. She's worth $1 billion. We have a state law in Minnesota named after Hannah Montana.

But parents -- the last time I looked -- still control the purse strings of 13-year-olds and still have a say in what concerts those kids go to.

She is 15. I'm hoping this good kid, on her way to becoming a good woman (I hope), was just dressing up like an adult ... or undressing like one.

But where were her parents and her Disney handlers in the process, during the Annie Leibovitz photo shoot, unless they all were laying the groundwork for her transition into adult star, leaving the adoring children fans behind?

I said Walt is probably rolling back over in his grave. The first roll was when a Mouseketeer named Britney Spears made the same transition.
