In The Know: Speaking Up For The Pigs

(WCCO) The politics of the presidential race has found itself in the quagmire of the lipstick wars. Don Shelby said nobody is speaking up for the pigs.

All this talk has me feeling sorry for pigs. One, in particular. I'm worried about Miss Piggy.

Sure, you might say that she is just a Muppet with lipstick and false eyelashes, but she thinks of herself as human, and so do I. Kermit loves her, with or without lipstick.

And, Babe and Arnold from Green Acres. What of these adorable pigs.

Everyone knows pigs are among the most intelligent animals in the kingdom. They make good pets. I read where they can be trained to herd sheep.

One guy told me that a pig could be taught Newtonian physics. I'm skeptical of that claim, but it just shows my prejudice.

I don't think John McCain called Hillary Clinton a pig in lipstick and I don't think Barak Obama called Sarah Palin a pig in lipstick. But, Sarah Palin called herself a pit bull in lipstick.

I'm calling for an immediate ceasefire on animal references in the presidential race, out of respect for Miss Piggy and other offended animal classes.
