In The Know: Bull Semen, Bras Sent To Iran

(WCCO) Most people know President Bush named Iran one of the countries in the Axis of Evil. Despite accusations about nuclear weapons development and trade sanctions, the United States is still doing a healthy business with its enemy. Don Shelby said the list of what we're sending Iran makes one wonder.

It makes one wonder exactly what we are trying to do to Iran. The amount shipped to Iran has increased more than tenfold in the years we have accused that country of the most horrendous deeds. And, U.S. companies have made a fortune doing so.

Let's see what leads the list: $158 million worth of cigarettes shipped to unsuspecting Iranians. Maybe our policy is to give the country cancer. Here is $12.5 million worth of bull semen exported to Iran. First, and this is not my long suit, but I'm surprised there is $12.5 million worth of the stuff around. They say it is to increase the quality of their cattle herds. I hope that's it. They enrich uranium, you know.

We've sent them more than $100,000 worth of bras. I feel okay about that. Even the world's greatest genius in weaponry can't hurt anyone very bad with a brassiere.

I think this is excellent diplomacy. We should tell them, stop your nuclear weapons program, or no more smokes for you.

That ought to stop them in their tracks.
