WCCO To Host 2nd 'Bloginar'
ST. PAUL (WCCO) ―
WCCO-TV will be holding its second "bloginar" event at Sweeney's in St. Paul on Thursday, October 9th from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
A "bloginar" is an evening of live, in-person, information and conversation between bloggers of all kinds.
During this event Chuck Olsen will talk about citizen journalism and how to get involved. Chuck is a cofounder of TheUpTake.org, a non-profit group that trains citizen journalists and helps distribute their content. Olsen has been called one of the most influential agents of change in the new media landscape.
Esme Murphy, WCCO-TV reporter and WCCO.COM blogger, will also be a special guest at Thursday's "bloginar." She'll speak about her blog and challenges she faces covering politics online.
Finally, WCCO will offer some great search engine optimization (SEO) tips designed to help bloggers improve how their blogs appear on sites like Google and Yahoo.
The event is open to anyone that would like to attend. It will begin with an hour of socializing and networking from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. That will be followed by the discussion with guests from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
