After 30 Tests, Still No Swine Flu In Minnesota

ST. PAUL (AP) ― The Minnesota Department of Health has tested dozens of specimens but still hasn't confirmed any cases of swine flu in the state.

The department says in a news release Tuesday that it has tested 30 samples, and all were negative for the virus that appears to be spreading fast around the country.

The state Health Department says it has another 50 to 60 specimens in line for testing.

Confirmed swine flu cases in the United States rose above 60 on Tuesday as governments around the world intensified steps to battle the outbreak that has killed scores of people in Mexico.

So far, there have been no deaths from the virus in the United States. There have been confirmed domestic cases in New York City, California, Texas, Kansas and in Ohio.
