St. Cloud VA Medical Center To Expand

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) ― The VA Medical Center in St. Cloud is about to get bigger.

VA Director Barry Bahl announced Monday that a new urgent care clinic will be part of $23.5 million in construction and renovation projects at the center this summer.

The VA in St. Cloud serves four times more patients now than 10 years ago.

The projects this summer include creating a space with more staff for treating non-life threatening situations and an outpatient surgery center.

Some of the surgeries to be done at the new center were procedures only available at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.

Officials say the St. Cloud VA Medical Center expansion will help serve the growing demand for VA care in the area.
