Good To Know: Vicarious Resurgence Of Youth

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― A lot of Vikings fans can't get enough of Sunday's incredible finish. Don Shelby says, play it again Brett.

Sunday was especially sweet for me. The day before my oldest baby gave birth to her second child, Josephine and I was elated. But, by Sunday, I was feeling old. I'm a grandpa. I am a senior citizen. And am, by definition, an old man.

Then the Vikings game came on, and the 49ers put up a tough fight. Then, the old man, Brett Favre, counted out as way past his prime by sports mavins, took over. Leaving two seconds on the clock he made a spectacular pass to a spectacular reception, and the old man, for the 42nd time in his career, led his team to victory in the last possession.

I sprang from the couch and made a move I'm not used to and I think I pulled something. I was excited the Vikings won. But I was more excited by one other important thing. Old guys rule!
