If Sen. Al Franken becomes a "Saturday Night Live" spoof target, the Democrat is torn over who should play him.
The former SNL cast member is bound for the U.S. Senate after winning a drawn-out Minnesota race.
The Associated Press asked him Wednesday who should get the Franken role.
He first said Fred Armisen, who portrays President Barack Obama in skits. He then said occasional guest Alec Baldwin might be a better fit.
At least once, Franken parodied a U.S. senator in a skit. He played a Democratic senator during confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas.
Franken will be on the Senate Judiciary Committee by the time hearings begin for Obama high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor.
An NBC Entertainment spokeswoman declined comment.
