Break dancers will compete for more than $5,000 in prizes at the second
annual Shubert Groundbreaker Battle in downtown Minneapolis.
The community event will be held in the parking lot between the Hennepin Center for the Arts and Shubert Theater buildings on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 1-8:30 p.m.
There also will be live graffiti displays, a panel discussion on the business of hip-hop, and breaking workshops from Zenon Dance Company and Milwaukee break dance crew Motion Disorderz.
Last year's Shubert Groundbreaker Battle drew more than 1,000 attendees and crews from all over Minnesota and the Midwest.

Construction will begin this fall on the Minnesota Shubert Center, a home for dance in downtown Minneapolis.
