Lindsay Lohan has apparently given up fur just days before she was to be named by PETA as this year's Worst Dressed Celebrity.
At the World Music Awards Wednesday night, Lohan told PETA honcho Dan Matthews that she was so impressed by a PETA display she saw at Oxford Street's Top Shop in London that she picked up a "no fur" button there and used it to accessorize her faux fur coat at the "Casino Royale" premiere the night before, according to a spokesman for PETA.
PETA says Lohan went on tell Matthews that she is "trying to weed the real fur from (her) wardrobe."
So, "PETA decided in good faith to remove her from the list," Michael McGraw, a spokesman for the organization told The ShowBuzz Friday.
PETA's 6th Annual Worst Dressed list of celebrities will be revealed sometime next week. In year's past, 5 to 10 celebrities have made up the annual list, which began in 2001. Star Jones, Diana Ross and Paris Hilton have all been on it; Hilton topped last year's list.
Lohan's rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, didn't have an official comment about the matter.
