A ritzy California drug rehabilitation center is suing Courtney Love for allegedly failing to pay $181,286 in fees for a three-month stay at the facility.
Beau Monde International of Newport Beach, which filed the suit in California Superior Court on March 1, alleges Love made a payment of $10,000 shortly after checking in to the center, but has made no further payments.
The claim, which is posted on The Smoking Gun Web site, also includes a copy of an invoice showing Love's charges, which include more than $36,000 for "Spa and other Incidental Costs."
In September 2005, Love was sentenced to 180 days at a drug treatment facility for violating probation in three previous cases — one for illegal possession of painkillers, one for being under the influence of a controlled substance in public, and another for assault and battery.
But, in December 2006, a judge terminated her probation and dismissed three misdemeanor cases, including two drug-related charges.
A call to the office of Love's lawyer has not been returned.
