A Minnesota state lawmaker who is advising the White House on climate change is calling for federal legislation to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
Rep. Jeremy Kalin of North Branch holds a telephone news conference on Friday with environmental and union groups to support a bill released in the U.S. Senate earlier this week. They will urge Minnesota Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken to help pass the bill quickly.
The groups say the legislation could create tens of thousands of clean energy jobs in Minnesota.
Kalin, a Democrat, is heading a working group of state legislators who are advising the White House on energy and climate control.

In Minnesota, it was more recently discovered that climate change is affecting the moose population in Minnesota.
