Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty dodged questions Tuesday about whether he's being considered as a running mate for John McCain.
He said nice things about Mitt Romney, another of McCain's vice presidential prospects.
Pawlenty said that Romney was "a wonderful person" and has "a lot of strengths and assets."
The Minnesota governor said he decided last week to stop answering running mate questions because there's too much speculation about it.
He also wouldn't answer when asked whether he was ready to be president or whether he would serve out his full four-year term as governor until early 2011.
Pawlenty spoke to reporters after giving a health care speech in St. Paul. He will be in Iowa on Saturday to speak to Republicans about McCain and other campaign issues.
The governor said his administration is focused on next year's legislative session and he has been holding meetings on budget issues and legislative proposals. But he wouldn't answer when asked whether he still be in office when the session starts in January.
