Barack Obama is in downtown Minneapolis Wednesday for a private fundraiser.
Donors are being asked to contribute between $1,000 and $28,500, with those raising or giving the larger amount invited to a dinner. A $5,000 check gets donors into a private photo reception with the Democratic presidential hopeful.
Meanwhile, Gov. Tim Pawlenty was in Washington, D.C. for a National Press Club speech.
Pawlenty plans to talk about how the Republican Party can remake itself to attract "Sam's Club Republicans" -- a modern tilt on Reagan Democrats. He wants the party to update its message to appeal to voters hungry for fresh ideas and government results.
