St. Louis County Teachers To Rally Over Contracts

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) ―

Teachers in the St. Louis County school district in northern Minnesota plan to participate in rallies this week.

The teachers have been working more than 15 months without a contract. Rallies will take place at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at all seven school sites -- Albrook, Babbitt-Embarrass, Cherry, Cook Cotton, Orr and Tower-Soudan.

Union officials say the last mediation on the contracts took place Sept. 16. Another session is planned for after the November elections.
