St. Paul Grads Plan Ceremony Around Obama Visit

ST. PAUL (AP) ― St. Paul Public Schools says it will help high school graduates get to their commencement ceremonies -- now that Senator Barack Obama plans to be in the area on the same day.

Obama says he'll hold a rally on Tuesday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

On that same day, graduation ceremonies are planned for Highland High School and Central High School at the nearby Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

The school district is urging families to plan transportation in advance. As one option, the district is offering free shuttle service to and from the ceremonies. The shuttle will pick up students and family members at the Sears parking lot.

School officials say the shuttles aren't mandatory, but could avoid some traffic challenges.
