Woman Charged With Identity Theft

Dawn Marie Scott, 41, of Maplewood has been charged with identity theft, for allegedly stealing credit cards and checks from a number of local schools and churches.

A woman is being charged with identity theft after she allegedly stole a number of credit cards and checks from several churches and schools in Ramsey County.
Dawn Marie Scott, 41, of Maplewood, is accused of stealing purses and wallets from a number of churches and schools in the area, including Concordia High School, Weaver Lake Elementary, North Heights Lutheran Church and Grace Lutheran Church.
Scott is also suspected of a number of purses and wallets from Washington County schools.
According to the criminal complaint, Scott used the stolen credit cards and checks at a number of retail stores and gas stations. She charged more than $4,200 at various locations and wrote checks totaling roughly $2,000 to be deposited in her accounts, withdrawing portions in cash.
Scott was identified by police during a number of these transactions, by the use of surveillance videos.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Scott.
