Fourth Defendant Pleads Guilty In Winona Gang Rape

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 20. Under state sentencing guidelines, Xiong would face four years in prison.
The last of four people charged in the gang-rape of an unconscious 16-year-old girl three years ago in Winona has pleaded guilty to felony sexual conduct.
Under a plea agreement, 20-year-old Xee Thong Xiong of Winona was convicted on one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct of a person who is physically helpless. Six other charges were dropped.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 20. Under state sentencing guidelines, Xiong would face four years in prison.
Xiong admitted to drinking liquor with friends and said one of the girls at the party drank too much and passed out. He said he and two other people sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious. The victim required emergency surgery after the attack.
Three other defendants were sentenced earlier.
