A former Minnesota high school teacher was sentenced to 15 years behind bars in South Dakota for sexual contact with a minor and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
George Krenz resigned in May as ninth-grade social studies teacher at Hot Springs, South Dakota. He also taught at Yellow Medicine East High School in Granite Falls, Minnesota, and is a native of Sleepy Eye.

A judge in Hot Springs on Friday sentenced Krenz to eight years on the alcohol charges and 15 years on the sexual contact charge, to be served at the same time.
