Roseville Mom Pleads Guilty To Stabbing Daughters

(WCCO) The Roseville mother who tried to kill her 11-year-old old daughters pleaded guilty in Ramsey County Court Friday.

Sylvia Sieferman stabbed her daughters and herself in August 2008.

The 61-year-old woman had adopted the girls from China.

Sieferman's attorney said she pleaded guilty because she wanted to spare her daughters from having to go through a trial.

Sieferman had lost her job and was worried about supporting herself. She told the courts she didn't want the girls in foster care so she decided to kill them and herself.

Sieferman's daughters have recovered from their injuries and a relative plans to adopt them.

Sieferman will be sentenced July 2. Her attorney says she'll probably serve about 11 years in prison.
