A man accused of shooting and killing another man outside a St. Paul bar last year has been found guilty.
A Ramsey County jury returned its verdict Saturday against 33-year-old Audie Matthews.
The jury convicted Matthews of first- and second-degree murder. He stared silently ahead and declined to address the court.
Defense attorney John Riemer says Matthews still maintains his innocence. The case will be automatically appealed to the state Supreme Court.
Witnesses said Blaine Christofferson was robbed at gunpoint in March 2008 and shot when he tried to run. The robber approached him after he went down and shot him again.
Police dogs led investigators to Matthews. Detectives say they found items along the way linking him to the crime.
