Special Ed Aide Charged With Having Sex With Boy

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WCCO) ― A special education aide has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy in River Falls, Wis.

According to the River Falls School District and the city's police department, 34-year-old Ann O'Malley-Tietz was arrested Wednesday afternoon. Formal charges were filed Thursday.

Police said O'Malley-Tietz was employed as an aide in the school district's Harbor Program from August 2007 through March 2008.

Police said she lost her job during the probationary employment period because the district had concerns over her "understanding of the role as an aide."

The boy told police he had sex with O'Malley-Tietz at her home and at the school. Police said she denied the accusations at first, but then told them the alleged victim had forced her into having sex.

According to police, the alleged victim said O'Malley-Tietz threatened him with a gun if he ever told anyone what was going on between the two of them.

The school district said they had no knowledge of the alleged sexual assault during her employment there.
