Charges: Ex-Teacher's Aide Had Sex With Boy, 16

A 39-year-old former
teacher's aide is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old high school student
and court records show the two said they were engaged.
Prosecutors charged
Brenda Baillargeon, of Amery,
Wis., with sexual assault, child
enticement and violating a restraining order to stay away from the boy.
Court documents indicate
Baillargeon and the teenager had sex at least 10 times. One of those times was at the boy's
grandfather's cabin.
Investigators said
Baillargeon used her daughter's cell phone to send the teenage boy text
messages, to throw everyone off.
Prosecutors said
Baillargeon violated several restraining orders. One time, prosecutors said Baillargeon met
the teenager in an alley where they kissed and hugged.
Residents of Amery can't
believe Baillargeon would do something like this.
"Naturally
surprised, disappointed that anybody would be involved with something like
this," said Stephen Schiell, the Amery school district administrator.
"A teacher," an
Amery resident said. "They're supposed to be somebody you trust and you go
to with problems."
Baillargeon's bail has been
reduced to $5,000, but she remains in the Polk County Jail. Her next court appearance is Nov. 21.
