Mom Sentenced 16 Years For Stabbing Daughters

(WCCO) The Roseville mother who pleaded guilty for trying to kill her 11-year-old old daughters was sentenced to 16 years and 8 months in prison Thursday.

Sylvia Sieferman, 61, pleaded guilty on May 15 to stabbing her daughters and herself in August 2008.

Sieferman adopted the girls from China.

In court she said she had lost her job and was worried about supporting herself. She told the courts she didn't want the girls in foster care or to be raised by strangers so she decided to kill them and herself.

Sieferman's daughters have recovered from their injuries and a relative plans to adopt them.
