Charge Added To Mom Accused Of Stabbing Daughter

ST. PAUL (AP) ― Prosecutors have added another charge against a Roseville, Minn. mother accused of stabbing her two adopted daughters last week.

Sylvia Sieferman is now charged with one count of first-degree attempted murder in the attack on her daughter, Linnea, last Thursday.

Last week, Ramsey County prosecutors charged her with one count of attempted second-degree murder in the attack on her daughter, Hannah.

Both girls are 11 years old. Sieferman adopted them from China.

Friends said Sieferman has had a string of bad luck in recent years, including financial pressures. She was hospitalized in a psychiatric unit about a month ago.

According to the criminal complaint, Sieferman told police she had hoped to kill her daughters quickly so they wouldn't have to endure her "screw-ups" any longer. She said no one believes her or likes her anymore, and that she has no friends and no work colleagues.
