Mpls. Woman Reports 2nd Rape In 2 Weeks

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― A Minneapolis woman reported being raped by a man she didn't know for the second time in two weeks, police said.

The second assault happened Wednesday afternoon. The victim, a 32-year-old woman, says she was in her home on the 3600 block of 26th Avenue South in south Minneapolis, when the rapist opened her back door and forced his way into her house.

The woman was not seriously hurt, but was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

Police said the woman accused the same man of raping her in her garage on April 23. In that case, the victim told police she had gone outside to check on a noise in her backyard, when she was beaten and raped in her detached garage.

The rapist is described as a 30-40-year-old white man, about 6 feet tall and weighs between 180-200 pounds. He has gray hair and was wearing a gray sweatshirt and navy cargo pants.

Minneapolis Police said they will be putting extra resources in the neighborhood. Anyone with information is asked to call Minneapolis Police at 612-673-3049.
