Man Charged With Throwing Puppy Off Balcony

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) ― A St. Paul man has been charged with animal cruelty after prosecutors say he threw his girlfriend's puppy off an apartment balcony.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County Court, 22-year-old Quincy Lee Morrow said on Nov. 28 he accidentally dropped the 5-month-old pit bull off a second-story apartment balcony in Maplewood when the dog bit his hand.

The dog sustained multiple fractures had to be put to sleep.

Police who looked at Morrow's hand said they couldn't find any bite marks, and a veterinarian who examined the pit bull doesn't think it bit anyone.

Morrow faces a felony charge of animal cruelty and if convicted could face up to two years in prison.
