Driver Of Crash That Killed Pregnant Woman Arrested

(WCCO) Seven months after a car crash that killed a Minnesota woman and badly hurt her unborn daughter the man driving is under arrest.

Frank Tregoning, 21, has been booked in the Hennepin County Jail for criminal vehicular homicide.

Jamie Baer was killed in September 2008, after the car she was a passenger in rolled on Interstate 94 in Rogers. Police said Tregoning was behind the wheel of that car and had been drinking before he drove 100 miles per hour and ended up in a ditch.

Baer's mother, Kari Palashewski, told WCCO that the Minnesota State Patrol informed her of Tregoning's arrest Wednesday morning.

Baer was six months pregnant when she was pulled from that car. Her baby was delivered at Hennepin County Medical Center after the crash weighing 1 pound, 12 ounces. She was named Angel.

Tregoning is scheduled to be in court on Thursday.

Jamie Baer's mother told WCCO she's numb right now but glad there's finally an arrest.
