When Nancy Kleve sits with her family, she likes to hold her oldest daughter's picture. It makes her feel like Jody still knows what happening with the family.
On May 10, 1996, 19-year-old Jody was the front-seat passenger in a terrible car accident. She died after five days in intensive care. Cory Schilling was the driver that night. He eventually pleaded guilty to driving drunk and served two years in jail.
"I just miss her so much. friendships have changed. I get envious of friends that are already grandparents," said Nancy.
Nancy still cries, but deals with her grief through workshops with Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She shows high school and college students photos of the wrecked car and photos of Jody before and after the accident.
Nancy's husband deals with his grief differently. He chooses to track Cory Schilling. It's not an easy task. This past summer, Schilling pleaded guilty to his third DUI his second since Jody's accident. He faced up to six years in prison, but never showed up to the hearing. He hasn't been seen since.
"We've got to put a stop to it. He's going to kill somebody else. He's a dangerous weapon on the road," said Robert.
Police saw Schilling most recently worked as a logger and knows people in Buffalo and New Germany. The Kleves hope those people will telling police where he's hiding.
"Turn him in please, turn him in save someone else's life," said Nancy. "Don't let another family go through what we've gone through over the past 13 years."
If you have any information about Schilling's whereabouts, please call the Morrison County Sheriff's Department at 320-632-9233.
