Ex-Mpls. Exotic Dancer Facing Tax Charges

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― A former exotic dancer allegedly failed to pay taxes on $80,000 in tips she made at a Minneapolis club in one year.

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office has charged 28-year-old Stephanie Antes of Albertville with several tax crimes, including five felonies and a gross misdemeanor.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue said Antes worked at Rick's Cabaret from 2004 to 2006. An anonymous tipster got the investigation started.

Antes declined comment to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

The criminal complaint said that her bank statements show she deposited $27,000 in 2004 and $76,000 in 2005 -- exceeding income she reported for those years. She also allegedly received a large state refund in 2005 because she claimed both of her children as dependents, even though their father also claimed them.
