Man Critical After Officer-Involved Shooting

The Litchfield officer-involved shooting happened at about 1:30 a.m. on March 15 the 300 block of South Litchfield Avenue.

A police officer shot a man early Sunday morning in Litchfield, according to authorities.
The shooting happened at about 1:30 a.m. on the 300 block of South Litchfield Avenue. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called in to investigate at the request of the Litchfield Police Department.
Janell Rasmussen, spokeswoman for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, also says the man was in the intensive care unit at Hennepin County Medical Center. He was flown there Sunday from Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
The officer involved in the shooting was not hurt.
Authorities have not released any additional details on what lead up to the shooting or the identity of the officer or person shot.
The officer has been place on administrative leave which is standard procedure in an officer-involved shooting.
