The initial firing stemmed from an alleged incident involving another officer possibly drinking on the job last January.

A Minneapolis Police sergeant who was fired after investigation of how he handled the case of another officer allegedly drinking on duty was reinstated.
Sgt. Robert Berry, a STOP officer, was also accused of lying about being on duty when Officer Patrick Daly drove a squad car to Sinners strip club downtown while on duty last January.
An arbitrator overthrew Chief Tim Dolan's original firing and reduced his discipline to a one-week suspension. The arbitrator found Berry did not lie about being on duty during the incident.
"We argued our case the best we could and we will move on from there," was Dolan's response to the decision.
