Hearing Continued For MN Woman In Elder Abuse Case

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (AP) ― A hearing for the second young woman charged in the case of alleged abuse at an Albert Lea nursing home was continued Monday.

A Freeborn County District Court representative says the attorney for 19-year-old Brianna Broitzman of Albert Lea called Monday morning to request a contested omnibus hearing.

That hearing date hasn't been set, but it could be done in conjunction with co-defendant Ashton Larson's hearing.

Attorneys for both women have filed similar motions in their cases, both questioning the constitutionality of their client's statements to investigators.

Police allege that over several months in 2008, the pair allegedly sexually and psychologically abused a number of patients the Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea while they worked there.
