The founder of a nationally known watchdog group plans to visit Albert Lea, Minn. later this week to discuss allegations of abuse at a local nursing home.
Wes Bledsoe is president of A Perfect Cause. He says he intends to arrive Thursday and then host a town hall meeting in the following few days.
The subject is the alleged abuse at Good Samaritan of Albert Lea. Prosecutors and the Health Department alleged a group of young employees taunted and assaulted patients there.
The alleged abuse included spitting in residents' mouths, poked and grabbed them, and at times mocking residents until they screamed.
Six young women have been recently charged -- two as adults and four as juveniles.
Bledsoe says the allegations did not surprise him, but they were distrubing. He asks, "Where is the moral compass of these employees?"
