Mantorville Prepares For 3 Murder Trials

MANTORVILLE, Minn. (AP) ― A small Minnesota town is getting ready for an unusual three murder trials in the next few months.

The Dodge County seat of Mantorville had its last murder trial in 2005, and prior to that it had been 10 years. But on Monday, jury selection will begin in the murder trial of 22-year-old Danny Ortega Jr. of Claremont. He and his 44-year-old father, Danny Ortega Sr., will have separate trials for allegedly murdering Troy Ulrich of Claremont in early 2008.

And last week, Ismael Bugarin of Dodge Center had a hearing in his case. The 34-year-old has pleaded not guilty to killing his wife and son, and could have a trial date set within a month.

Mantorville is about 30 miles west of Rochester.
