Thieves Take SUV, Dog

(WCCO) When thieves took Jim Wetch's SUV Friday, they became dog-nappers, also taking Wetch's 5-year-old dachshund that was in the back of the vehicle.

Wetch said he was driving to Fridley on Friday when he pulled into a gas station near University Avenue and 53rd to get some ice cream and dog treats.

He left the keys in the car and someone jumped in and drove off.

Wetch is offering a $1,000 reward for the return of the dog, known as JR.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Anoka County Sheriff's Office at 763-427-1212.
