Jury To Take 1981 Maplewood Murder Case

ST. PAUL (AP) ― Closing arguments will begin Wednesday in the trial of a man accused of killing his girlfriend 27 years ago in Maplewood.

The jury could take 56-year-old Aaron Foster's case. He's charged with third-degree murder in the death of Barbara Winn, who was found shot in her bedroom on May 8, 1981.

Prosecutors declined to charge foster in 1981, saying there wasn't enough evidence.

The case was reopened by the Ramsey County sheriff's office in 2006.

On Tuesday, the chief Anoka County medical examiner told jurors that when she reviewed the case last year, she came to the same conclusion as the medical examiner who performed Winn's autopsy. That was that Winn's manner of death was "undetermined."
