Nearly 1 Year Later, Mother Still Missing

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) ― The family of a missing 57-year-old Columbia Heights woman is preparing to have her declared dead even as they keep waiting for answers.

The daughter of Judy Lynn Rush says she remembers the day nearly a year ago when police discovered the bloody mess in Rush's apartment.

The Anoka County medical examiner has determined that Rush could not have survived losing the volume of blood found August 22nd in her apartment.

Next month, an Anoka County district judge will hear a petition to legally declare Rush dead. The medical examiner has determined that she died of homicide.

Rush's daughter, Tina, says her mother was very friendly and that might have gotten her into trouble.

Sheriff's Captain Brian Podany says a former friend and co-worker of Rush is a suspect, but he hasn't been charged.
