Jacob Wetterling Kidnapped 19 Years Ago

ST. PAUL (AP) ― An organization wants people to keep a light on for Jacob Wetterling and all missing children.

The Jacob Wetterling Resource Center is asking families to leave a porch light on or to light a candle Wednesday to honor Jacob. The 11-year-old was abducted in St. Joseph 19 years ago, on Oct. 22, 1989.

By leaving a light on to "help light the way home," the group says families show their support for all missing children and for Jacob, who would be 30 years old this year.

Jacob Wetterling was abducted by a masked gunman. Neither Jacob nor his abductor has been found.
