Wis. Hockey Coach Charged With Sex Assault

(WCCO) A Hammond, Wis. youth hockey coach accused of repeated sexual assault of a child made an initial court appearance on Monday in St. Croix County Circuit Court.

James Lawrence Armagost, 45, has been charged with felony sex charges for exchanging e-mails with a 15-year-old girl that led to a romantic relationship. The girl told police she knew Armagost because he was her hockey and softball coach.

The complaint states Armagost kissed and inappropriately touched the teenager several times at secluded locations including his car. Investigators said the incidents took place between Feb. 1 and Aug. 31.

Each of the felony charges carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
