Boy On Bike Conscious After Hit-And-Run

HOPKINS, Minn. (WCCO) ― The 9-year-old boy who was struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding on a bicycle is conscious and talking, according to the Hopkins Police Department.

An SUV hit Marlo Deshawn Jiles Wednesday night as he rode his bike on the 200 block of Jackson Avenue North.

He was transported the Hennepin County Medical Center. Authorities have not commented on the nature of his injuries.

Witnesses told police a burgundy SUV, like a Ford Explorer, hit the boy. The vehicle didn't stop.

Police said it is likely the vehicle sustained damage on the front right. If that vehicle sounds familiar, call Hopkins Police at 952-938-8885.
