3 Arrested After Teenage Boy Shot Dead In St. Paul

ST. PAUL (WCCO) ― Police in St. Paul are investigating a fatal shooting that left a teenage boy dead late Saturday night.

The shooting happened on the 700 block of Case Avenue just before midnight. Police were responding to several reports of shots fired.

Police arrived to findĀ 15-year-old Joshua Albert Wilson Shaw lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Three people have been detained in connection with the shooting, one adult and two juveniles, including a 16-year-old taken into custody early Sunday morning at his St. Paul home. A police spokesman says the shooting may have been gang related.

"We still do not know what motivated the shooting. We know that some of the people involved do have some gang ties," said St. Paul Police Chief John Harrington.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact authorities at 1-800-222-TIPS.
