1 Deputy Dragged, 2 Bit By Dog During Traffic Stop
CARLTON, Minn. (AP) ―
What was supposed to be routine traffic stop in Carlton County was anything but routine for three deputies -- after one was dragged 40 feet and the other two were bit by a dog.
The traffic stop happened Monday afternoon in the city of Carlton. A sheriff's deputy pulled over a driver for a traffic violation, but the driver sped away and dragged the deputy for a short distance.
Another unit was called in to help and followed the truck to a nearby home. There, two deputies were bit by a brown and tan dog that looked like a pit bull.
The driver was arrested after a struggle.
The deputy who was dragged suffered minor injuries. The other deputies are hoping they won't have to get rabies shots.
