2 H.S. Students Suspected Of Defacing Portraits

ST. PAUL (WCCO) ― Two high school students are suspected of defacing three portraits of former governors while on a school trip to the state Capitol last week.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the two students are from Eastview High School in Apple Valley, Minn. Authorities found the suspects because students from the school contacted them, saying they heard students bragging about the damage.

The patrol said one of the students has confessed, saying they used a felt-tip pen to draw on the portraits of Govs. Jesse Ventura, Harold LeVander and Elmer L. Anderson.

The students have not yet been arrested or charged, but could face felony criminal damage to property charges.
