Cashier Accused Of Taking $60K From Rep.'s Store

PERHAM, Minn. (AP) ― A cashier is accused of stealing nearly $60,000 from the coffers of a grocery store in Perham, Minn. owned by a state representative.

Francis M. Williams, 25, of Perham was charged in Otter Tail County Court with felony theft and felony theft by swindle after allegedly taking the money from Deans Country Market between Sept. 2007 and May 2008.

The owner of the market is Republican Representative Dean Simpson.

According to court records, Williams denied taking the money. She was linked to the missing money after a bookkeeping audit.
